Mud, sweat and tears!

Paintballers
Bruised, battered, but ultimately unbeaten

Bruised, battered, but ultimately unbeaten; that was Miss James's paintball team after they'd been on a day-long skirmish. The group were among 32 students battling for glory, accompanied by paint-spattered teachers, Miss James, Miss Gonda and Mr Mitchell.

The stakes were high, the aims were dodgy and the teachers also took more than their fair share of punishment.

The Year 11 media students battled bravely at Skirmish paintball in Rushden with Miss Gonda and Miss James each heading up a team. Two games were drawn, Miss Gonda's team won one, but Miss James's team fought back to an emphatic two-one victory.

Miss Gonda said; 'It was the best day out, we ran and ran, laughed and laughed!'. The ultimate accolade went to the girls who stood and fought, unlike the boys, whose combat technique consisted of hiding in bushes and taking pot shots at each other. Ross Knox sustained one particularly close range salvo delivered by his best friend, which gave him the joint title of 'best bruise of the day' a little-coveted award shared with Jamie Scoular.
