Year 11 students have produced their own magazines as part of a GCSE media studies project. The design brief was to produce the front cover, contents page and two feature articles in a magazine. The students worked in teams of four and each completed one section of the task.
Students Bethany Hannah, Zafir Manji and Oliver Irwin were among those whose work is on display in the library.
Bethany said: 'We could choose what topic the magazine would be about and then we conducted surveys within the class to decide what articles and images would appeal to people.'
The magazines covered a wide range of topics such as football, cars and fashion. Bethany designed the Gig cover to appeal to music fans, while Zafir worked on 'Heroes' magazine and Oliver devoted his time to 'a graffiti and trainers' magazine.
The project, which aimed to get students to look at the nuts and bolts of magazine design and content, made for intense negotiation between the groups as they thrashed out what sort of image and content they were aiming for.
English teacher, Miss Stephanie Gonda said: 'The students have worked really hard on these and they all look fantastic. There is such a range of different styles and information that they have managed to include and this project really got the students looking at what makes an interesting magazine.'
