Library
Library games
Games available in the Library.
The library has just bought a range of games to keep students guessing. The games are a mixture of maths, problem solving, lateral thinking and word play and can be used by small groups or whole tutor groups. There are currently three available and another two on order, and they can be borrowed from the staff reference section.
Librarian Mrs Heppell said: 'These are ideal for teachers who are looking for new things to do in tutor time. They can be played in small or large groups and, depending on the game, they are suitable for a wide range of ability levels.'
The new games are Think Outside of the Box for lateral thinking with clues, Think Tank, a maths game and Quiddler, a word game that's a cross between scrabble and rummy.
Book Fair
Don't miss the chance to get the latest books at great prices at the Scholastic book fair this week. There's titles from top authors, fiction and non-fiction books, juggling kits and stationery. Prices range from 40p for a pencil through to about £10 for the most expensive books. The titles are on display in the Library, either at lunchtime or tutor times.
Ms Adams said: 'There's books for all ages and interests, things like football quiz cards, Doctor Who books, Jacqueline Wilson diaries and graphic novels so there's bound to be something that everyone will want.'
