Requirements
To access your home area from outside of school the
following are required:
Minimum requirements:
- A Personal Computer running Microsoft Windows 98
- 32Mb RAM
- 300MHz processor (eg Intel Pentium II 300MHz)
- Internet Explorer 5
- sufficient hard drive space to save files
- Internet account with a service provider (eg, Freeserve,
NTLWorld, BTInternet) via a 56kps modem (cable modem,
ISDN and ADSL also supported)
- Up-to-date anti-virus software is essential (eg,
Norton Anti-Virus, McAffee etc). A free program is
downloadable for personal use from www.grisoft.com .
- Your computer should have all available updates installed
(visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com to
check for available updates) to ensure your security
and that of your files on the school network.
NB - Unfortunately AOL as a service provider is not
supported at this time.
Support for Apple Macs and Linux is not yet available.
