Welcome
The Principal - Update
Principal Trish Stringer
BW Academy Brooke Weston has taken the opportunity provided by conversion to an Academy to appoint a new Principal. Trish Stringer, formerly a Vice Principal here was appointed as Principal in January 2007, while former Principal, Mr Peter Simpson OBE, has taken on the role of Executive Principal over both Brooke Weston and the new Corby Business Academy.
The Principal
Brooke Weston is consistently one of the top five highest achieving state comprehensive schools in England. Our stunning examination pass rate, for both GCSE and A-level, is always one which we try to match or outperform. However, given that for three years running (in 2004, 2005 and 2006) our students have achieved a 100 per cent pass rate for 5 GCSEs (A-C grades), sometimes it is impossible to exceed our own high standards!
Our A-level students are well provided for. As well as having one of the largest sixth forms in the county, offering A-levels in 22 options, we are showing a steady increase in performance with an average of nearly three B grades per student in 2006. The vast majority of our leavers go on to Higher Education, a few each year destined for Oxbridge after gaining straight As at A-level.
While we are immensely proud of our educational high-flyers I hope that this prospectus will reflect the care and attention
we give to all of our students, no matter what their background or aptitude. We 'add value' to all our students, and, in turn, each of our students are themselves valued as a part of the Brooke Weston community. We make no apology for being proud of our students, their achievements, our ethos, staff and resources which all combine to create this unique College.
