'Our students understand that they have a responsibility as global citizens and be actively involved in change.'

Thanks to everyone who took part in the Mufti day to raise funds for Oxfam. A total of £1,114.82 was collected from students as they came into the College. It is the latest in a series of money-raising ideas which have included various competitions, a bingo session and a planned fashion show.
The whole school took part in the Mufti day, wearing their own clothes for lessons, but eight tutor groups from Year 11 have also organised their own fund-raising activities for Oxfam.
The work was sparked by the Period One curriculum which has focused on healthy eating which then led students into thinking about issues such as food crises overseas.
Teacher, Jennifer Ainscow said: 'Students looked at the concept of Fair Trade for the Christmas Markets and these new projects for Oxfam have just followed on from there. We all have to be global citizens and see ourselves as part of the answer to poverty and hunger overseas. Our students understand that they have a responsibility as global citizens and be actively involved in change.'
