Reading Groups
Do You Love Reading?
Want to talk about books? Ever read a book so brilliant you wanted to tell everyone? Or a book so bad you wanted to warn them off?
Brooke Weston has two reading groups; one for staff and one for Years 7, 8, and 9.
The Staff Reading Group
The staff reading group consists of around 12 members who meet twice a term to share their enjoyment of reading. Each member chooses a book for the others to read and at the next meeting the book is discussed. The group meets at 5.00 pm until 6.00 pm at a local pub usually on a Thursday evening, where lively debate takes place (or not, if everyone is in agreement).

On the last meeting, we will be bringing in our own favourite reads in sealed bags. Everyone gets to choose a bag and read the contents over the holiday.
The Lower Year's Reading Group
The lower year's reading group. More commonly known as the 'Well-reads' meet every other Thursday in the Library at tutor time to discuss books, plan strategies for taking part in inter-school quizzes and vote on young people's book awards. We have the popular 'Black Bag' out of which students blindly take their next choice of book and all books are reviewed on the Library's online catalogue, Access-It.
Anyone wishing to join the groups should contact the Library.
