Year 7 Inductions
The Year 7 Induction takes the form of two quizes; one about the Library and how it functions; the second is about Access-It the software used for cataloging and searching for resources. The inductions take place with the Librarian in the first term of the academic year.
The Finding Information is an activity based induction introduces users to the various ways of finding information, these may include: dictionaries, encyclopaedias, the internet, atlases and the Dewey Decimal system.
Year 12 Induction
The year 12 induction is a task based induction. The task sheets aim to help Year 12 students to settle into Sixth Form life in the Library. The tasks concentrate on the resources in the Library and how students can utilise them. It contains tasks on the Dewey Decimal system and how to utilise Access-It when searching for A-level specific material.
